Waves Capture 13 Events at PCSC Invitational

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Pepperdine women’s swimming and diving team had a great start to the season as they took home 13 individual events at the season-opening PCSC Pentathlon Invitational in Riverside, Calif. on Friday.  


The Waves had three swimmers win multiple events, as sophomore Danielle Kimmel (San Diego, Calif./Eastlake HS) captured first place in the 50-yard butterfly (27.05) 50-yard breaststroke (30.13) the 100-yard IM (1:00.99), and the short-medley pentathlon (2:52.63), junior Haley Wilson (Carpenteria, Calif./Santa Barbara HS) won the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.02), the 100-yard freestyle (53.41) the 200-yard IM (2:13.68), and the long-medley pentathlon (6:18.23), and senior Loriann Mark (Malibu, Calif./Malibu HS) took first-place honors in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.03) the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.10), and the freestyle pentathlon (14:48.83). Freshman Francesca Cyphers (Lake Oswego, Ore./St. Mary’s Academy) took first-place honors in the 100-yard butterfly (58.84), while sophomore Alexandra Chester (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly HS) took home first place in the 50-yard backstroke (28.49).


The PCSC Pentathlon Invitational continues tomorrow with relay events.
