March 18, 2005

Malibu, Calif. - Due to the current storm in the Los Angeles area, the match between Pepperdine and Denver has been cancelled. The event will not be rescheduled this year.

Saturday the Waves depart for their third road trip of the year taking on Stanford and Cal. Pepperdine will challenge the top-ranked Cardinal in Palo Alto at noon on Sunday, before traveling to Berkeley to face the Bears at 11:00 a.m. Monday.

Stanford owns a 12-0 record and has not given up more than two points in any dual-match this season. They boast six players ranked in the top 50, led by No. 9 Amber Lui, who has yet to be beaten in 2005.

California checks in at No. 19 with an 8-3 record this year. Heading the Bears' lineup is No. 5 Suzi Babos. Babos is 9-1 this year with her lone singles loss coming in a home loss to Washington.

Pepperdine is currently riding a five match winning streak which has lifted them to a 9-3 overall recdord. The Waves will be led this weekend by Caroline Raba and Natalie Braverman, both of whom have been battling injuries but will be in action for the Waves' big weekend.
