MALIBU, Calif. – The International Tennis Association announced the 2018 Division I ITA All-Americans on Wednesday afternoon and Mayar Sherif, Ashley Lahey and Luisa Stefani all earned singles honors.

The award is Stefani’s third-consecutive All-American singles accolade, while it is both Sherif’s and Lahey’s second-straight.  The three earned the award after reaching at least the round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championship in May.

Lahey had a record-making performance in her sophomore season, reaching the finals of the NCAA Singles Championships.  She finished ranked No. 6 in the ITA singles rankings, was an All-WCC first team selection and compiled a 27-5 overall record this season.  She went 14-4 against ranked opponents and collected a 12-2 record in dual action and a 15-3 record in tournament play throughout the season.

Sherif had a stellar senior season, earning West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors, as well as ITA Southwest Region Most Improved Senior and Senior Player of the Year awards.  She reached the semifinal of the NCAA Singles Championship, tying Pepperdine women’s tennis previous best finish as she and Lahey were only the third and fourth players ever to accomplish the feat.  This season, she finished with a 34-6 overall record including an 11-4 against ranked opposition.  She went 19-1 in dual play and 15-5 in tournament play throughout the season.  She finished her career ranked No. 11 in the ITA singles rankings.

Stefani also excelled on the courts for the Waves, finishing with All-WCC first team honors in both singles and doubles.  She finished her season in the NCAA Singles Championship quarterfinals and ended her junior campaign with a 16-4 overall record and an 8-3 record against ranked competition.  She put up an 11-3 record in dual play and went 5-1 in tournament play throughout the season.  Stefani ended the season ranked No. 19 in the singles rankings.
